Presentation for the OSEP Project Directors Conference 2016. This presentation included a general overview and context of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), specifically focusing on some of the major provisions/implications for children with disabilities. It also highlighted how the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) and the OSEP-funded National Center for Systemic Improvement (NCSI) are supporting states in transitioning to ESSA. Finally, the presentation featured Tennessee and how it is positioning its work around improving outcomes for children with disabilities within its broader state improvement efforts.
