This document published by The Office of Special Education and Rehabilitation Services (OSERS) provides an overview of the two key statutes that address the requirements to provide transition services to students and youth with disabilities: The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and the Rehabilitation Action of 1973, as amended by Title IV of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). The guide addresses transition planning, transition services and requirements, education and employment options and supporting decisions made by students and youth with disabilities.
